As teachers, we have spent years perfecting our craft and becoming the CEO our classrooms. As the CEO of your classroom, you have developed many of the skills that it takes to run a successful small business. You have the ability to develop both long and short term plans, you have excellent presentation and public speaking skills, you can manage both small and large groups of people, and you understand how to get people excited about a particular topic or help people solve problems. These skills directly translate into being able to write a book, conduct seminars, become a motivational speaker, or an educational consultant. All of these skills are viable options for moving you from being CEO of your classroom to being CEO of a small business.
